Blue Lightning Movie Day 1 Part 1

On June 29th in downtown Lyons, Blue Lightning started filming. The movie takes you on the journey of an orphaned girl who reunites with her grandpa and bonds with him through soap box derby racing. Filming couldn't have been in a more ideal area as Lyons has a premiere soap box derby track and a history of derby racing.

You may see some familiar faces, famous and local. The movie is produced by Luther Wardlaw of Toombs County. Aaron Williams from Louisiana wrote and directed the movie. Gordon Daniels (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier), Quinton Aaron, (The Blind Side), Olivia Brown (Miami Vice), and Ava Matello (Doom Patrol) will be in town for most of the week filming. 

Filming day started at Cookie Boss with the cast getting hair, makeup, and costume changes. Then they went next door to Andy's Home Center to film the hardware store scene and down the road in front of Dyke's for a 'mad little girl throwing rocks' road scene. 

The day was busy and hot! Thank you to Missy Hall at Cookie Boss and Jesse Flowers at Andy's Home Center for the hospitality while the chaos was upon you. It was a fun day in downtown Lyons!!!
