Volunteer of the month! Drum roll please....... Matt Driggers!
Matt Driggers came on board as the Southeast Georgia Soap Box Derby Director reluctantly in 2019. He works tirelessly to make our derby the best it can be, giving many hours (some he takes off work for) to any individual or group who is interested. He's spoken at clubs, gone into the schools, been on the radio, set up at the Business Expo & The Real Squeal, and now he's in the movies! Keep your eyes open for a movie Called Blue Lightning. Our local champions, Matt, and some other local folk can be seen in the derby race scene!
Matt's willingness to take the time for these activities gives the kids in our community a chance they may have never had otherwise. Derby days are long, usually either hot or cold and wide open. Many hours are spent weeks prior to the local race by many volunteers to make it happen.
This week, Matt is in Akron Ohio cheering on our local racers.
Thank you Matt for your leadership, great attitude, strong family values, and your heart of gold.
Good luck in Akron!
